Whenever I attend a big blockbuster movie, I go for two reasons: one, to see what the big hoopla is all about, and two, to experience the escape that BIG MOVIES promise to deliver. I am always disappointed, needless to say, yet I return time and time again. What doe this mean? It means that while the movies are what they are (adolescent CGI pyrotechnics) I also am what I am – afraid to miss out on the pop culture phenomenon and desperate to escape reality at any cost.
